Thank God for Sunny Days!

It's been two days in a row that we've had some very nice, sunny, summer weather!  Okay, so I've been stuck inside at work, but I'm not going to be choosy, I will take what I can get and be grateful for it!  It's still summer time so as long as I'm off work before 7 or 8 pm I'll still get to enjoy some good old fashioned sun time!  Time to take of the grill cover, dust off the outside chairs, dig out the citronella candles, find the bug spray and enjoy some good old fashioned vitamin D.  Okay, I didn't really do all of that and I probably never would just to enjoy some nice warm sunshine.  I'm really grateful that we live in a part of the country that has the best weather right now!  Everyone else is in the middle of a heat wave and we get to sleep at night with the temperature outside in the 50's, and at the most during the day the lower 80's.  People think of Washington and they think it rains all of the time.  I think that's really a misconception.  It can be cloudy for days on end and we do see a lot of rain, but it doesn't really seem to bother anyone here.  Most people don't even use umbrellas, but they do have a strange name for them and a festival once a year using the strange name.  Have you ever heard of a bumpershoot?  Apparantly that is what they call an umbrella here.  Maybe that's why nobody carries one, they don't want to have to hear people say "Hey look!  That guys got a bumpershoot!".
